Brawl between chairperson and vice-chairperson

KATHMANDU: DEC. 8 – In the meeting of Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality of Saptari, there was a scuffle between the chairperson Suryanarayan Mandal and the vice-chairperson Usha Kumari Mandal. At a meeting of the executive committee at 3 pm on Tuesday, there was a dispute between them over the distribution of wheat seeds.

During the meeting, Usha Kumari, vice-chairperson of the Rural Municipality, threw a chair at Suryanarayan and broke two of his teeth. Ward Chairman of Ward No. 3 Dipendra Kumar Yadav said that the incident took place as the dispute was escalating. The issue of the distribution of wheat seeds was discussed on Tuesday. During the clash, two of the chairperson’s teeth were broken, ‘he said.

The vice-chairperson has admitted that he was attacked by the chair after the chairperson came close and used abusive language during the discussion in the meeting. However, the police said that they have not received any information about the incident. In the past, there has been a public dispute between the chairperson and the vice-chairperson over budget distribution.
