Real beat Inter Milan to win the group

KATHMANDU: DEC. 8 – Spanish club Real Madrid beat Italian club Inter Milan 2-0 to become the group winner. In Group D, the 13-time European champions Real easily won the group stage.

Inter Milan, limited to 10 players in the second half of the game, entered the knockout stage as runners-up despite the defeat. Real won the group with 15 points while Inter finished second with 10 points.

Toni Kross scored the first goal in the 17th minute in Real’s victory. After that most of the time without a goal, the Italian club was limited to 10 players in the 64th minute. Barella was under pressure after leaving the field after receiving a red card.

Real doubled their lead in the 79th minute through a goal from Asensio in the 79th minute. Shakhtar Donetsk and Serif Tiraspol, who were eliminated from the group stage, drew 1-1.
