Lawyers urge Oli: Assist Chief Justice to file an impeachment

KATHMANDU: DEC. 7 – A team of lawyers who reached Balkot to meet CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has requested CJ Rana to help in impeachment.

CJ Rana’s departure, according to Nepal Bar Association Chairperson Chandeshwor Shrestha, was inevitable because he could not uphold the dignity of the court, could not lead the administration of justice, and could not provide pure justice.

He said, “We have met with other parties and requested. He said that the problem of the court should be solved from within the court. But this problem cannot be solved from within the court. He says I will go the way I was appointed, you are stuck. Either he had to resign or he had to be impeached. Is it right to have an all-party system in his hands? Think seriously about the way out. ‘
