Within 10 days of marriage, couple dead
BAITADI: DEC. 7 -A newlywed couple also died in a jeep accident in Baitadi on Monday evening. The newlywed’s Prem Chunara, 24, and Manisha BK, 20, also died in the accident.
They got married only 10 days ago according to the police. They had an accident while going to Maiti (wife’s home) to return the bride.
Five people, including a newlywed, were killed and five others were injured in the accident, according to the District Police Office, Baitadi.
The jeep (Se 1 Ja 888) heading to Kailpal from Patan Bazar met with an accident at Sakar Khola of Patan Municipality-1 on Monday evening. Binod Bhattarai, 13, Rama Bhattarai, 72, and Jani Bhattarai, 40, were identified as the deceased.
According to Rajesh Shahi, Chief Inspector of Police, Area Police Office, Patan, four people died on the spot and one died during treatment.
According to police, the accident occurred while traveling at high speeds on a rural gravel road.
The motorist has fled the scene of the accident. Police Inspector Rajesh Shahi informed that he is being sought.
