Bar movement is being weakened
KATHMANDU: DEC. 6 – The agitation by the Nepal Bar Association demanding the resignation of the Chief Justice is weakening.
Demanding the resignation of the Chief Justice, Bar has been holding sit-ins at the Supreme Court premises every morning. The number of participants in the sit-in is also decreasing compared to the past. Judges have also started attending regular sittings, while lawyers involved in the movement have also started participating in debates.
Rakshya Basyal, vice-president of Nepal Bar, demanded the resignation of the Chief Justice and said that a sit-in was held at the gate of the Supreme Court. She even claimed to have strengthened the Bar movement now.
Law practitioners have been protesting for the resignation of the Chief Justice since Oct. 31.
