Expansion of Unified-Socialist organization accelerated in Kavre
KAVREPALANCHOK: DEC. 6 – The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified-Socialist) has intensified the expansion of its organization in Kavrepalanchok. The party has formed committees in up to three wards on the same day. According to the party, ward committees were formed in Namobuddha Municipality-2, Roshi Municipality-6 and Temal Municipality-2 only last Saturday.
In Roshi-6, a ward committee was formed in the presence of Health and Population Minister Birodh Khatiwada. After the formation of the committee at the local level, the party’s meeting held a week ago decided to intensify the organization’s expansion campaign in Kavre.
District Secretary Deepak Gautam informed that a party ward committee and a people’s organization are being formed in Kavre. According to him, committees will be formed in all the wards by Dec. 31. The district has 135 wards in six towns and seven village municipalities. So far, committees have been formed in 60 wards, said Gautam. “The responsibility of forming the ward committee has been assigned to the district and central leaders. We are working at the village level as per the plan to be completed by Dec. 31,” he said.
District Chairperson of the party Tok Bahadur Waiba said that committees have been formed in all the wards of Mandandeupur. Waiba is also the chief of the town. The party is announcing youth, women and peasant organizations along with the party committee, especially at the ward level. “We plan to gradually form a people’s organization,” Waiba said.
The party, which was formed after splitting with the CPN-UML, was identified by 56 people’s representatives elected in Kavre last week of Bhadra (Aug/Sep) at the District Election Office, Dhulikhel. According to Waiba, the then UML leadership had to run the party in a one-sided manner and move forward with one-sided decisions arbitrarily.
The party is led by former UML MPs Shiva Bahadur Deuja, Krishna Prasad Sapkota and Bidur Sapkota. Deuja is currently the chairperson of the Central Discipline Commission, while Krishna Prasad is a member of the Politbiuro and Sapkota is a central member. The current two-state parliamentarians in the district are also socialists.
