American wrestler defeated by Nepali Jureli
KATHMANDU: DEC. 6 – Nepali women’s wrestler Asmita Jureli has defeated American wrestler. Jurelli defeated American wrestler Jesse Storm in the singles fight of the International Wrestling Championship. There was a remarkable presence of spectators in the competition held at Bhrikuti Mandap.
In the two-on-one fight of the competition organized by Nepal Women’s Wrestling Foundation, Nepal’s Nepali Bro and Sneha Thapa defeated Kobu Brandon of Pakistan. In the men’s singles fight, Jordan Hor of Pakistan defeated Thagu of Nepal. Although Jordan was scheduled to play with an Indian wrestler, Jordan had clashed with Thagu when the Indian wrestler did not come.
Sapana Tamang won the singles fight between Nepali women wrestlers. Sapana sidelined Jamuna Tamang. In the men’s singles fight, Kobu Brandon of Pakistan defeated Nepali Bro of Nepal.
Mayor of Suryabinayak Municipality Basudev Thapa, Wrestler Bharat Bahadur Bisural, Himalayan Tiger, Chairperson of the Foundation Bhagwati Khadka and others distributed belts and prizes to the winners. Wrestlers from Nepal, USA and Pakistan participated in the one-day wrestling.
