Thapa elected as president of NC in State 1
BIRATNAGAR: DEC. 6 – Uddhav Thapa has been elected as the president of the Nepali Congress in State 1.
Establishment other (Poudel) faction defeated Gururaj Ghimire of the party by 2 votes Uddhav Thapa of Leader Krishna Sitaula’s faction won the election.
According to the results announced this morning, Thapa won the election with 844 votes while his nearest rival Ghimire got 842 votes.
Ramesh Jung Rayamajhi of the establishment party got 890 votes and Tanka Prasad Rai got 847 votes. Govinda Prasad Dhungana (Kedar) and Bishwanath Rijal (Trilochan) got 765 and 669 votes respectively.
Bhupendra Rai and Umesh Thapa have won the general election. General Secretary Thapa, on the other hand, won from the non-establishment group. Pramila Gachchhadar emerged victorious in the women’s category. Khadga Phago and Binod Kumar Basnet won the post of joint general secretary.
A total of 1,752 votes were cast in State 1, which was formed by Deuba-Sitaula and Poudel-Koirala faction.
