Sane, a player of folk marital music (Panchebaja), missing for a week
KATHMANDU: DEC. 5 – Ram Bahadur Damai, 71, alias Sane, has been missing from Ramechhap’s Likhutamakoshi Rural Municipality-4 for seven days, according to his family.
Bire Damai, also known as Thulakanchha, went missing on his way back from playing folk marital music (Panchebaja) at a village wedding on Nov. 29. He said that he had gone to the toilet, who was with him, but when he came back, he did not see Sane. However, Sane has not yet returned home.
His relatives and neighbors searched for him, but he has yet to be found. The family alleges that they ignored the pleas of the local administration and people’s representatives for the search.
According to Deepak Sundas, a local, the police performed a wide search just in the area where Sane went missing. Although the event was reported to Likhutamakoshi Rural Municipality chairperson Govinda Bahadur Khadka and other people’s representatives, the family stated that there was no effort to find him.
The family has asked for the assistance of local people’s representatives, police, youth, and local leaders in the hunt for Sane.
