Youths vow against gender-based violence

BHAKTAPUR: DEC. 5 – Stakeholders and youths in Bhaktapur have expressed their public commitment to end gender-based violence (GBV).

At an interaction program on the role of youth to end GBV organized as a part of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence here Saturday, more than 100 youths present at the event promised to take a lead from their respective society to end gender-based violence.

On the occasion, Member of Bagmati Province Assembly Shashi Jung Thapa called upon all to make a firm commitment of ‘I will not commit violence, will not let it happen and will retaliate if I witnessed such cases’.

Likewise, deputy chief of district coordination committee Sarita Kunwar, chairman of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Bhaktapur chapter Jagat Prajapati, secretary of NGO Federation Ramesh Giri and others also stressed the need for collection efforts and massive campaigns to end GBV.
