Sita Ranamagar to play T20 cricket in Hong Kong

KATHMANDU: DEC. 4 – Vice-captain of the Nepali national cricket team Sita Rana Magar has decided to play in the women’s T20 cricket tournament to be held in Hong Kong. According to Queen’s Event Management, she has been selected for the Fair Break Invitational 2022 in Hong Kong. She will also become the first Nepali female player to participate in a foreign T20 tournament.

The tournament, which runs from May 1 to 15, is a women’s T20 cricket tournament recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), according to Queen’s Event Management.

In the six-team competition, selected women players from different countries will compete. In which world-famous players including Harmanpreet Kaur of India and Sana Mir of Pakistan will participate.

However, it has not been decided which team Sita will play for, and the decision will be made by the team organizer.

Sita, who is also the vice-captain of the Nepali national team, made her debut in the Nepali national team in 2007. Starting her cricket career from Banke, she is a successful player of the Nepali women’s team.

Queens will act as the agency

The Queen’s Event Management, which has been organizing the T20 franchise Pokhara Premier League in Nepali cricket, has agreed to work with Sita as an agency to play a role in expanding the relationship of women players at the international level.

The Queen’s Event Management will now provide the necessary agency services for Sita’s competition in Hong Kong. According to Queen’s, Sita got the opportunity to play in Hong Kong due to her and the player’s hard work during the deal.

Speaking on the occasion, Sports Minister Maheshwar Gahatraj said that Sita’s participation would be an opportunity for the next generation as well. He wished Sita all the best for her excellent performance as other Nepali women players would also get the opportunity if she performed well in the competition.
