Fire at Sorakhutte Nayabazar garment factory resulted in a 10 million damage

KATHMANDU: DEC. 3 – A fire broke out at a garment warehouse at Nursery Chowk of Khusibu in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-17 on Friday, causing a loss of Rs 10 million.

According to the police, the fire broke out while welding a banquet kept by Janam Hamal and Ajana Hamal (residence of Kalikot) but living in a one-storey house of a local Lohoche Maharjan.

The fire started at 2:40 pm and was brought under control with the help of two fire brigades from Kathmandu Metropolitan City, one from Nepal Army, one from Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, one from Bhaktapur Municipality and one from Lalitpur Metropolitan City.

Preliminary estimates put the loss at 10 million.
