Far West Congress Convention: Balayar vs. Mishra seeking President
DHANGADHI: DEC. 3 – In the Nepali Congress Far Western State Convention, there will be competition between the establishment party and other parties. Former Minister Bir Bahadur Balayar, a central member of the party from the establishment party, and former Kailali former president Narayan Dutta Mishra from the other party are preparing to nominate candidates for the post.
Although there are more than five aspirants for the presidency on the establishment side, in the end, there is a consensus in favor of former minister Balayar. He had not been in the discussion of the president before.
The other party has fielded candidates only in the final stage. Although Balayar was nominated to lead the party by consensus, the two sides could not reach an agreement. In the end, the electoral process between the two parties is going to move forward.
Leaders of the establishment and other groups had been discussing the formation of a state working committee by consensus since Thursday. However, the Deuba faction also got involved in the election after the non-establishment party made public the list of candidates saying that the issue was not settled.
From the establishment side, Narnarayan Shah, Govinda Bohora, Govinda Bahadur Shah, Arjun Jung Bahadur Singh, Him Bahadur Rawal and Pushpa Shahi had demanded for the presidency.
Although the Election Committee has fixed the time for nomination registration from 2 to 4 pm, nomination for major posts has not started yet. Candidates for members have already started registering nominations.
