Sudurpashchim and Lumbini will play in the final of U-19 ODI

KATHMANDU: DEC. 3 – Sudurpashchim State has entered the final of the U-19 One-Day National Cricket Tournament. Sudurpaschim made it to the final by defeating Bagmati State by 8 wickets in the final match of the group stage at Kirtipur on Friday.

In the final and decisive match of the group stage, Bagmati was under pressure to win. But Sudurpaschim won easily by including Bagmati in only 95 runs. Sudurpaschim completed the target of 96 runs by losing only 2 wickets.

With the victory, Sudurpaschim finished second in the group stage with 8 points and made it to the final. Lumbini has already made it to the final with 10 points.

Batting first after losing the toss in Friday’s game, Bagmati could add only 95 runs in 30 overs. Bivek Magar of Bagmati was the top scorer with 32 runs off 75 balls. Apart from Krishna Karki who scored 17 runs, others could not touch the double-digit run. Hemant Malla and Sher Malla of Sudurpashchim took 5 and 4 wickets respectively to wrap up Bagmati cheaply.

Naresh Bhatta and Rahul Bhandari shared an unbeaten 58 for the third wicket to give Sudurpaschim an eight-wicket victory. Bhatta scored an unbeaten 37 off 58 balls while Bhandari scored 31 off 39 balls. Captain Khadak Bohora was out for 5 and Basanta Karki for 11. Pratish GC and Gautam KC took 1-1 wickets for Bagmati.

The final will be held in Kirtipur on Sunday.
