12 leaders, including Ranjit Tamang, have been added to the CPN (Maoist Center)
KATHMANDU: DEC. 3 – CPN (Maoist Center) has selected 12 youths in the Central Committee. A meeting of the UCPN (M) Standing Committee held on Thursday promoted 12 leaders to the Central Committee. Most of the Central Committee members are young.
Former Akhil (Revolutionary) leaders Ratna Dhakal, Narendra Neupane, Santosh Bista, Ranjit Tamang, Surendra Basnet, Tilak Raj Bhandari, Deepak Devkota, Bijay Gautam and Uttam Adhikari will be given the responsibility of the central representative, said spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara.
Among them, Dhakal, Neupane, Bista and Tamang are former chairpersons of revolutionary while Basnet, Bhandari, Devkota and Gautam are former vice-chairpersons. Another leader is a former secretary-general. Chairperson of the UCPN (M) Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda had announced last Ashoj (Sept/Oct) that they would be brought to the party center as per the policy of recruiting 20 percent youth to the party center.
Dahal’s personal secretary Ramesh Malla said that the other three leaders were Shree Krishna Adhikari of Nuwakot, Gagan Khadka of Jajarkot and Parasmani of Rukum West.
