After being defeated by Gandaki, State-1 out of competition

KATHMANDU: DEC. 2 – Gandaki has defeated State 1 in the ongoing U-19 National Cricket Tournament in Kathmandu. In the match that had to be won to strengthen the chances of the final, the State 1 lost by one wicket to Gandaki.

At the same time, State 1 is out of competition. Now, after the match between Sudurpaschim and Bagmati State, it will be decided which team will reach the final. If they win, Sudurpaschim will reach the final. If Bagmati defeats Sudurpaschim, the four teams will have the same 6 points. In this way, one team from Bagmati and Sudurpaschim will reach the final.

In today’s match, State 1 had given a target of 134 runs to Gandaki State. Batting first after winning the toss, State 1 scored 133 runs in 44 overs with 4 balls to spare. Gandaki completed the target by losing 9 wickets with 72 balls remaining. Arjun Kumal’s 35 runs was the highest for Gandaki. Deepak Dumre added 33 runs and Milan Chhetri added 24 runs.

Dipesh Kandel was the top scorer for State 1 with 46 runs. Similarly, Deepak Joshi scored 16, Vivekananda Mehta 14 and Sonu Ansari 13 runs. Kamal Pariyar of Gandaki took 3 wickets and Sudip Aryal took 2 wickets. Similarly, Bishnu Pandey, Kiran Poudel and Subash Bhandari took 1-1 wickets each.
