RPP General Convention: Discussion on working paper begins in closed session
KATHMANDU: DEC. 2 – Discussion has started on the social report of Chairperson Pashupati Shamsher JB Rana in the closed session under the ongoing unity general convention of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). Representatives from all over the country are participating in the discussion. Leader Bhuvan Pathak informed that the financial report of another chairman Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani and the political report of Chairperson Kamal Thapa will be discussed soon.
It is stated that the amended constitution will be passed and the election schedule will be made public by this evening on the basis of the suggestions of the delegates to the General Convention. Accordingly, the nomination of candidates will be registered, a list will be published and an election will be held. According to leader Sundar Pandey, 4,700 delegates have been elected from across the country.
A new 199-member working committee with eight office bearers including the Chairperson, four Vice-Chairperson and three general secretaries will be elected from the general convention. Provision has been made to elect at least one woman as the Vice-Chairperson and General Secretary.
Similarly, four Vice-Chairperson, three general secretaries and some other office bearers will be nominated by the new working committee. It is said that the general convention which started at Bhrikuti Mandap on Dec. 1 will continue till Dec. 3.
