How many active members of Congress in which state?
KATHMANDU: DEC. 2 – Nepali Congress is starting the state convention from today under the 14th general convention. This is the first time that the Nepali Congress has convened a state convention after the country moved to a federal structure.
Party president and prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will inaugurate the convention at 2 p.m. Party spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma informed that the convention would be inaugurated simultaneously in five states. According to him, the date of the convention has not been fixed in states 1 and 2.
How many active members in which state?
The number of active members of the Congress in the 14th General Convention is 840,106. The highest number of 186,335 people are in Bagmati state.
Then there are 174,813 people in State 1, 131,117 in Lumbini, 118,145 in Gandaki, 1 lakh 999 people in State 2, 75,101 people in Far West and 53,596 people in Karnali.
Of these, 644,565 are males and 195,372 are females. Looking at the cluster, the highest number of 367,274 Khas-Aryans (Indo-Aryan ethnolinguistic group).
There are 26,736 tribals, 89,439 Madhesis, 44,177 Dalits, 27,338 Tharus, 16,182 Muslims and 14,306 backward areas. Similarly, Congress has stated that there are 6,625 minorities and 182 persons with disabilities.
