Real increasing the lead in the title race
KATHMANDU: DEC. 2 – In Spanish La Liga football, Real Madrid is increasing its wide lead in the points table. Real beat Athletic Bilbao 1-0 in a decisive goal by Karim Benzema on Wednesday night to give Real a seven-point lead over second-placed Atletico Madrid.
Karim Benzema’s only goal in the 40th minute was a pass from Luka Modric to give Real the win at home to Santiago Bernabeu. This is Benjamin’s 17th goal this season. The visiting team Bilbao tried to score till the end but failed to equalize. Bilbao is unbeaten in the last six games with the loss. In 2021, Benzema has scored 35 goals in 46 games for Real in all games.
Real have 36 points from 15 games in Spanish La Liga, including 11 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss. Atletico Madrid have 29 points from 14 games, while Real Sociedad have 29 points from 15 games. Sevilla is in fourth place.
