“The scene of the plane being pushed is not new” : Captain KC
KATHMANDU: DEC. 2 – We’ve all seen people pushing four-wheeled light vehicles. But on Wednesday, a different scene was seen at Kolti Airport in Bajura, with passengers pushing the plane.
The passenger plane was flying in the sky at Kolti Airport in the northeastern part of the district. Passengers began arriving at the airport, but the plane was unable to land at the airport. The passengers were terrified when the plane could not land.
Passengers started talking to each other about the reason for the inability of the plane to land even when the airport was empty. At that moment, a passenger looking at the airport said, “There is a plane in the middle of the airport.”
That plane belonged to Tara Airlines. Another plane was unable to land in the middle of the runway due to a burst tire. Another plane landed after the passengers pushed Tara Air’s 9N AVE on the runway and kept it in a safe place. The video and photo of Tara Airlines being on the runway with a burst tire and a passenger pushing the plane has gone viral.
‘Scene of the plane being pushed is not new’
Captain Roshan KC, who has been flying Tara Air’s twin-engine plane for a long time, says that the scene of the plane being pushed is not new. ‘Reverse gear is often used on smaller ships (twin-engined, Dornier, Beechcraft) but is rarely used. The reverse gear is less used because of the noise and imbalance, he said, adding, “Push back vehicles are used at airports to push such ships backward, but when there is no such vehicle at remote airports, people often push.”
According to him, even when the wheel of the plane is punctured, people are pushed to the side of the plane at the airport where there is no ‘push back vehicle’. “It’s a process that happens in every airport in the world, not just in our country,” Captain KC told Makalu Khabar. He flew Tara’s plane and is now the operations head of Shree Airlines.
