State two defeated by Gandaki
KATHMANDU: NOV. 29 – In the ongoing U-19 National Cricket in Kathmandu, Gandaki State defeated State 2 by 55 runs.
Gandaki clinched its second victory in the tournament after the State 2 was reduced to 101 runs after chasing the target of 156 runs in the match played at Mulpani Maidan on Monday.
Gandaki won the toss and elected to bat first. Arjun Kumal contributed 47 runs.
In the beginning, all the batsmen except Kumal did not survive. But in the last over, Sandesh Sunar scored 26 runs while Sachin Raj Adhikari and Kamal Pariyar scored 14 runs each while Prasant Singh scored 10 runs.
State 2’s Bivek Yadav and Gulshan Jha took 5 and 3 wickets respectively.
But following the normal score of 157 runs, the State 2 remained helpless in two innings. Apart from Trita Das (31) and Rohan BK (23), others could not perform fast.
Aadil Ansari and Bivek Yadav scored 19 and 10 runs respectively. Kamal Pariyar took 5 wickets while Subash Bhandari took 3 wickets and Kiran Poudel took 2 wickets. This is the second defeat of State 2.
