Light snowfall is expected in mountainous areas
KATHMANDU: NOV. 29 – Today’s forecast is for light snowfall in one or two locations in the eastern and western high alpine areas. Today is partly overcast in the hill sections of the nation and partly cloudy in the remainder of the country, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
Similarly, tonight will be gloomy across the nation, with a potential of light snowfall in one or two locations in the western high mountainous area.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the country is now under the influence of a low-pressure system situated in Bangladesh and its surroundings, as well as the partial effect of a low-pressure system based in the Arabian Sea and its environs.
In its report for the next 24 hours, the Department forecasts moderate snowfall in one or two locations in the highlands and hilly parts of States 1, Gandaki, and Karnali. It has recommended people adopt cold-prevention measures as the severity of the cold has increased across the country.
Similarly, the country will be partly overcast on Tuesday, with the risk of light rain in one or two spots in Gandaki State.
According to the most recent Division reports, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley today was 7.1 degrees Celsius, with a high temperature of 21.4 degrees Celsius.
Today, Jumla had the lowest temperature of -4.3 degrees Celsius and Janakpur had the highest temperature of 29.2 degrees Celsius in the country.
