Efforts are being made to reach a consensus on leadership selection: Padma Aryal
CHITWAN: NOV. 29 – CPN-UML leader Padma Kumari Aryal has said that discussions are underway for consensus in the leadership selection. Giving a brief response from the closed session venue of the UML General Convention on Monday, Aryal said that the election process should be started only if there is no consensus till the last moment.
Regarding the change in the election schedule, she said that this was due to discussions for consensus. The tenth national general convention of the CPN-UML has been going on in Sauraha since Friday. The leadership selection process is underway from the closed session of the UML General Convention. Earlier, UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli was given the right to select all the office bearers on his own.
Similarly, in the list prepared by Chairperson Oli, dissatisfaction has been seen in some posts and the election process is about to start. Leaders have already registered their candidacies for the posts of the chairperson, vice-chairperson, secretary and deputy general secretary.
