Voting for NC president will be held again in Morang
BIRATNAGAR: NOV. 29 – In Nepali Congress Morang, voting will be held again as none of the presidential candidates got 51 percent votes. In the election for the office bearers of Nepali Congress Morang, the three candidates for the post of President did not get 51 percent votes and re-polling will take place.
According to the election committee, efforts are being made to reach a consensus on voting. Election Committee Coordinator Kedar Karki said that the election will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) if not today. Dig Bahadur Limbu, Yadu Bista and Dilip Gachchhadar were in the fray for the post of Morang president.
There were 3,585 voters and 3,414 people had cast their votes in the Morang Convention. 3 thousand 360 votes were cast for the post of chairman. Dig Bahadur Limbu, a candidate from other groups, got 1,544 votes. Candidate Dilip Gachchhadar close to Sher Bahadur Deuba got 1,166 votes while Krishna Prasad Sitaula candidate Yadukumar Bista got 563 votes, according to the Election Committee.
The committee has stated that re-election will be held between the contestant who gets the highest number of votes and the candidate who gets the second vote. According to the Congress constitution, any presidential candidate has to get 51 percent votes.
