Caution against Omicron variant: barring African citizens from entering Nepal

KATHMANDU: NOV. 28 – The government has barred citizens of African countries from entering Nepal.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has stated that the government has decided to bar the citizens of African countries from entering Nepal until further notice.

The ministry has instructed the Immigration Department, Tribhuvan Airport Office and the local administration office in the border areas not to allow entry to South African nationals. However, citizens of African countries will be allowed to enter for diplomatic and emergency work.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the government has taken precautions after the virus of Omicron variant was found in South African countries.
