Amar Giri resigned from UML party

KATHMANDU: NOV. 24 – Dr. Amar Giri, a member of the CPN-UML’s disciplinary commission and former president of the Progressive Writers’ Association, has resigned from the party.
In a statement issued on the eve of the General Convention, Giri said that right-wing thinking was prevailing in the party and added that the party had decided to abandon the party saying that it was involved in activities contrary to the ideas, policies, programs and policies adopted by the Ninth General Convention.
According to a statement issued by Dr. Giri, he has decided to leave the UML and support the CPN (Unified Socialist Party) instead of discussing political and ideological issues.
