East-West highway blocked at the inauguration of UML General Convention
KATHMANDU: NOV. 24 – Private and public transport will be stopped in Chitwan on Nov. 26, the day of the inauguration of the 10th National General Convention of the CPN-UML. Chief District Officer of Chitwan Asman Tamang informed Makalu Khabar that private and public vehicles have been barred from entering the Narayangarh area from 10 am on Friday.
According to Tamang, vehicles coming from western Nepal will be stopped at Narayani Bridge, vehicles coming from the east will be stopped at the intersection of the District Administration Office and vehicles coming from the north will be stopped at Aap Tari. He said that a security plan has been prepared in coordination with the concerned district administration offices as human security is a major issue. According to Tamang, the general public was told not to travel on that day except for the emergency.
There is a readiness to facilitate for emergency vehicles including ambulances. Tamang said, “It is not difficult for the needy in the case of the East. Bypass roads and highways will be cleared. Easy for travelling to Kathmandu or Pokhara.” But we will not give an alternative to the vehicle coming from the west in normal condition, in case of emergency it will be facilitated. ‘
On this day, travelers from western Nepal will be most affected. When they come to Kathmandu, they have to travel via Butwal-Palpa-Pokhara-Muglin. If you don’t use this detour, you will have to wait on the road during the inauguration ceremony of the UML General Convention. On the same day, the security arrangements in the Narayangarh area will be tightened. According to Tamang, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Staff will also be deployed.
Traffic police will also be added on the opening day of the convention. In the tenth general convention, UML has said that millions of cadres from all over the country will come to Chitwan. UML has stated that the inauguration ceremony of the convention will be held on the banks of the Narayangarh river and the closed session will be held at Sauraha.
