Chalise panel ‘clean sweep’ in Kathmandu 3
KATHMANDU: NOV. 24 – The panel of Santosh Chalise has won in Kathmandu Constituency No. 3 during the 14th General Convention of Nepali Congress. Chalise, who is also the mayor of Gokarneshwor Municipality, defeated his rival Dipendra Lama by 46 votes.
Out of a total of 366 votes cast, Chalise got 205 votes. Candidate Lama got 159 votes. Chalise Prakashman belongs to the panel while Lama Deuba belongs to the panel. Deepak Risal and Bhuwan Lama have won the post of secretary with 213 votes and 185 votes respectively. Sudip Pandit Chhetri won with 192 votes and Amrit Khadka won with 180 votes.
Earlier, Shee Ram Chalise and Bimal Thakuri had won from the constituencies of states A and B respectively. Chalise Prakashman belongs to the panel and Thakuri Deuba belongs to the panel. According to the Congress constitution, the president of the state region will be the vice president of the federal region.
