Congress General Convention: 3 contenders from Kaski for Gandaki presidency
POKHARA: NOV. 24 – There are only three candidates from Kaski for the post of president of the Nepali Congress for the Gandaki state convention. Former Minister Yagya Bahadur Thapa, former leader Shukra Raj Sharma and another leader Devraj Chalise have submitted their demands for the chairmanship.
Chalise is scheduled to announce his candidature at a press conference shortly while others are making internal preparations. As soon as he was elected as a delegate to the General Convention, his candidature for the post of Chalise president was announced.
He has been elected as a general convention representative from Kaski 2. Similarly, Thapa from Kaski 1 and Sharma from Kaski 3 have become delegates to the General Convention. The state convention is being held in Gandaki on Dec. 2. Chalise, Thapa and Sharma were all defeated in the 2074 election from Kaski.
