KATHMANDU: NOV. 21 – The meeting of the parliamentary hearing committee convened for the hearing of the proposed ambassadors has been postponed due to a lack of quorum. The meeting was adjourned after only five MPs, including the chairperson, were present in the 15-member committee.
MPs Dev Gurung, Surendra Pandey, Amrita Thapa and Niru Devi Pal, along with committee chairperson Laxman Lal Karna, were present for the meeting. Since four members of the same committee have become ministers, their seats have become vacant and at least six MPs had to be present to reach the quorum.
The proposed ambassadors for the hearing, Dr. Shankar Sharma and Gyan Chandra Acharya had already arrived and were on their way.
