Hearings on all types of cases assigned at SC
KATHMANDU: NOV. 21 – CJ Rana has directed hearing all kinds of cases including habeas corpus. He has filed 334 cases in 10 joint and single sessions today. He has not set any precedent for himself. Though the case has been fixed for hearing, the hearing has not started yet.
Thursday’s plenary meeting of all Supreme Court justices, including CJ Rana, decided to pass the rules, including the ballot system. Following the decision, the judges are sitting in the courtroom and are engaged in the administration of justice.
The judge had refused to sit in the bench on Sunday, November 22, demanding reform of the court. The case has not been heard in the Supreme Court since Oct. 24. In the meantime, only the case of the detainee was heard and the judges have returned to work after the decision was taken to implement the round system. The service recipients who were waiting for justice were in a dilemma as they could not sit on the bench regularly as per the pressure of the case.
