US Assistant Secretary of State returns home

KATHMANDU: NOV. 20 – US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu, who arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday evening with the aim of establishing and renewing ties with Nepal’s political leadership, top government officials and Nepal’s development partners, left for home on Friday evening.

During his three-day visit to Nepal, he had separate meetings with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka, former Prime Ministers KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal. He was accompanied by Health and Population Minister Birodh Khatiwada and observed the US-funded Pfizer vaccine distribution at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

Assistant Foreign Minister Lu was bade farewell at the Tribhuvan International Airport by US Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry and Deputy Chief of Staff Rewati Raman Poudel.
