Partnership between MetLife Foundation and Habitat for Humanity
KATHMANDU: NOV. 19 – The MetLife Foundation and Habitat for Humanity Nepal have announced a partnership to address the needs of future Nepali households affected by the COVID-19 lockdown in livelihoods. Employees of Habitat for Humanity Nepal, along with a local partner organization, are providing food and basic sanitation items to 250 families in Morang and Saptari, including the former residents of Kanchanpur.
Habitat for Humanity will provide rice, pulses, cooking oil, salt and other food items, masks, soaps and other hygiene items to the families for two months from the Rs 600,000 received from MetLife Foundation.
“In the midst of the COVID-19 epidemic, MetLife continues to distribute relief items to address the immediate needs of Nepalese families.
Habitat for Humanity Nepal has also made arrangements to provide safe shelter to the most deprived and marginalized families and provide food access to reduce the immediate impact of COVID-19.
