Kathmandu Valley experiences year’s coldest day so far today

KATHMANDU: NOV. 17 – The Kathmandu Valley today experienced the coldest day of the year so far.

According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu today has been measured as low as 7.4 degrees Celsius this year.

The minimum temperature in Kathmandu on Tuesday was 8.0 degrees Celsius. The department has requested all to take precautions to avoid the cold as the maximum and minimum temperature of the air is decreasing with the rise of cold.

According to the Meteorological Department, the average daily temperature in the country, including Kathmandu Valley, has started decreasing by one to two degrees Celsius. According to the Division, winter begins with the influence of western winds in the Nepali atmosphere.

Similarly, the minimum temperature of Jumla is minus 4.5 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature of Janakpur is 29.2 degrees Celsius.
