KATHMANDU: NOV. 17 – The Netherlands have secured a place in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Netherlands secured a place in the World Cup with a 2-0 victory over Norway in Group G of the European Championship.

After failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, the Netherlands made it to the finals of the Qatar World Cup qualifiers. This time the Dutch team managed to stay in the top position by adding 23 points from 10 games in the group. Steven Bergwijn and Memphis Depay scored the same goal in Tuesday’s victory over the Netherlands. Earlier, after Turkey’s 2-1 win over Montenegro, there was pressure on the Netherlands to win.

However, in a goalless draw most of the time, in the 84th minute, Bergwijn gave the Netherlands the lead by scoring a goal. Depay doubled the Netherlands’ lead during the injury, leaving the Netherlands behind to be selected. Turkey finished second with 21 points from 10 games.

Turkey will now have to cross the playoffs to qualify for the Qatar World Cup. Norway, however, has not qualified for the World Cup since 1998.
