CM Rai taking a vote of confidence today
KATHMANDU: NOV. 17 – Chief Minister of State 1 Rajendra Rai is taking a vote of confidence today. Chief Minister Rai is going to take a vote of confidence from today’s meeting of the state assembly. Though preparations were made to take a vote of confidence on Tuesday, the discussion could not move forward after Speaker Pradip Kumar Bhandari adjourned the meeting.
Chief Minister Rai was dissatisfied after Speaker Bhandari said that the meeting was postponed due to the strike of the Communist Party of Nepal. But in today’s sitting of the state assembly, he will propose a vote of confidence. And, the process is said to move forward. Chief Minister Rai became the chief minister on behalf of the five-party alliance.
He was about to take a vote of confidence two weeks after he was appointed chief minister. There are 93 MPs in State 1. There are 50 MPs in the five-party alliance. UML has 41 MPs.
