As UML skips house, CM Rai couldn’t get vote of confidence
BIRATNAGAR: NOV. 16 – CPN-UML, the main opposition party in the state assembly, has demanded the adjournment of the house.
On behalf of the government, CM Rajendra Kumar Rai had an agenda to take a vote of confidence in the state assembly today.
The meeting was called for tomorrow due to the absence of the lawmakers of the main opposition CPN-UML.
The meeting has been postponed today as the Hon’ble CM of State 1 Rajendra Kumar Rai has an agenda to take a vote of confidence in the meeting, speaker Pradip Kumar Bhandari said. The meeting is postponed till tomorrow 11:30 a.m.
CPN-UML had requested to move its members till tomorrow saying that they could not attend the meeting due to the nationwide strike of CPN-Maoist. CPN-UML Chief Whip Buddhi Kumar Rajbhandari said that all the lawmakers could not be present due to the nationwide strike and the meeting was adjourned till tomorrow.
After the ruling party did not comply with the UML’s request, Speaker Pradip Kumar Bhandari adjourned the meeting for tomorrow. Chief Minister Rai will take a vote of confidence tomorrow.
