KATHMANDU: NOV. 16 – Returning to the international competition after a long absence, the Nepali national women’s team is playing an international T20 series for the first time. Nepal has a schedule to play a three-match T20 series with Qatar. In which Nepal is playing its first game today.
Nepal, which is preparing for the ICC Women’s T20 Asia selection, will leave for UAE after the match against Qatar. Nepal will compete with Bhutan, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia and UAE in the round-robin league in the T20 Asia qualifiers which are the gateway to the World Cup qualifiers. The top team will be able to compete in the global selection for the T20 World Cup to be held in South Africa in 2023.
This is Nepal’s friendly series with Qatar. The game will start at 3:45 pm Nepali time. The national women’s team is about to compete in the international game after two years. Earlier, Nepal had competed with the international team in the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) in Pokhara. Since then, the Nepali women’s cricket team has not played an international game.
After the series with Qatar, the Nepali team is scheduled to leave for UAE on Nov 19. Where Nepal is scheduled to play ICC Women’s T20 Asia qualifiers. In the first match, Nepal will compete with Hong Kong on Nov. 22, Bhutan on Nov. 23 and Kuwait on Nov 25. Similarly, the executive will compete with Malaysia on Nov. 26 and UAE on Nov. 28.
