Four lawyers arrested for demanding reopening of SC [Photos]

KATHMANDU: NOV. 14 – Police have arrested four people, including senior advocate and chairman of Unnat Loktantrik Party Nepal Swagat Nepal, who have been demanding the opening of the court.

The group, which has been protesting against the Nepal Bar Association in the white stripe, demanded the resignation of the Chief Justice and tried to hold a hunger strike in the premises of the bar against the agitating legal practitioners who were arrested by police on Sunday.

Various legal practitioners have been protesting in the Supreme Court and Nepal Bar Association premises demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana. Another group of legal practitioners has taken to the streets demanding that the judiciary should operate spontaneously.
