68 prisoners killed in Ecuadorian prison clash

KATHMANDU: NOV. 14 – At least 68 people have been killed in a gang fight between inmates at an Ecuadorian prison. The gang fight took place in Guayaquil city jail. Hundreds of security personnel have been deployed there to control the situation, according to local media.

Police entered the jail shortly after the clash and found explosives and a gun, the BBC reported. This year alone, clashes between inmates at various Ecuadorian prisons have killed at least 200 people.
