Student burnt PM’s idol along with protests

POKHARA: NOV. 11 – Criticism and protests are taking place across the country after the government increased the price of petroleum products. UML-backed student organizations have burnt the Prime Minister’s idol in Pokhara along with protests.
They set fire to the statue of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at the Prithvi Narayan Campus Gate on Thursday. They have been protesting against price hikes, controversial statements by ministers and other high prices.
“Prices are rising day by day. The price of petroleum products has reached such a high level. Addressing the crowd, ANNFSU Gandaki coordinator Prakash Poudel said, “The government has not understood the plight of the people. I enjoyed the chair and the power. ‘
The ANNFSU warned that the agitation would continue until the price hike was reversed. When the idol was burnt, there was a scuffle with the police for some time.
