Bar has termed JB Rana as ‘corrupt’ Chief Justice

KATHMANDU: NOV. 11 – The Nepal Bar Association has termed Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana as ‘corrupt’. Bar officials chanted slogans at the Supreme Court premises on Thursday, calling Chief Justice JB Rana corrupt.

They were irritated by the protruding after being interfered by the protest program. They even chanted slogans.

Following the agitation of the Supreme Court judges, the hearing of cases other than habeas corpus has been stopped. Bar, who is seeking the resignation of Chief Justice JB Rana, has said that Bar will bring more powerful programs and has warned that they will not allow Chief Justice JB Rana to enter the Supreme Court.

After this, Chief Justice JB Rana summoned Bar Chairman Chandeshwar Shrestha to discuss the issue. However, Chairman Shrestha has taken a stand that he will not go alone. Chairman Shrestha said, “The news was sent. I did not go and I will not go. The problem could not be solved by negotiating alone. Whatever happens now happens through collectivity. ‘

Bar, who has been in agitation with the one-sided demand for the resignation of the Chief Justice, has been saying that other alternatives are not acceptable. Chairman Shrestha said, “Our main agenda is the reform of the judiciary. His (Chief Justice JB Rana’s) resignation is the beginning of that. After his resignation, the bar will be reformed. ‘
