Stress in UML Sunsari, mike snatched at the meeting
BIRATNAGAR: NOV. 10 – CPN-UML’s Morang dispute has reached on the rise. As per the 10 points, the dispute between the two sides has escalated over the issue of returning on Jestha 2, 2075 BS (May 16, 2018). A meeting of the CPN-UML convened in Inaruwa was marred by a scuffle between the two groups.
A meeting was called at the Omsai Party Palace. In Sunsari, the dispute was growing between Ramesh Basnet, the chairman of May 16, and Rewati Raman Bhandari’s group, which was made the chairman by the KP Oli faction last Dec/Jan. Municipality and district conventions have also been affected by the dispute.
Former district chairman and Itahari Sub-Metropolitan chief Dwarika Lal Chaudhary snatched the microphone saying that he should chair the program after a dispute between the two groups escalated.
There was stress in the meeting place after Chaudhary snatched the microphone saying that he should not be the chairman of the meeting chaired by an illegal committee and an illegal person.
There was further controversy after the activists climbed on the stage to snatch the mic from Chaudhary’s hand again. Chaudhary has left the venue after snatching the mic. Chaudhary has been saying that a meeting should be held under his chairmanship if he is to return on May 16. Earlier, two groups had claimed to be the chairpersons of the Dharan Municipality Convention.
