Nobel laureate Malala gets married

KATHMANDU: NOV. 10 – Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai is married. She married with her partner in an Islamic ceremony in Birmingham, UK. She and Asser Malik had agreed to the marriage while attending the marriage. Even though it does not have legal status, marriage is considered the first step in Islamic marriage.
Malala, 24, described it as “a precious day” in her life. Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani women’s rights activist, sought refuge in the Wes Midlands region of England in 2012 after being shot by the Taliban.
Today marks a precious day in my life.
Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.
