Three state heads appointed

KATHMANDU: NOV. 10 – President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has appointed State 1, Karnali and Far Western States as the state chiefs.

On the recommendation of the government, President Bhandari appointed Parashuram Khapung of Tehrathum in State 1, Tilak Pariyar of Banke in Karnali and Devraj Joshi of Bajura in the Far West on Tuesday, according to Article 163, Clause 2 of the Constitution of Nepal.

The cabinet meeting held on Nov. 8 had decided to remove three state chiefs and appoint new ones.

As per the government’s recommendation, President Bhandari today (yesterday) dismissed three state chiefs.

Earlier, Somnath Adhikari was the state chief in State 1, Govinda Prasad Kaluni in Karnali and Ganga Prasad Yadav in the Far West.
