Chief Justice JB Rana also appointed a bench
KATHMANDU: NOV. 8 – Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana has fixed six benches including himself. He has fixed four joint and two single sessions for habeas corpus today.
Chief Justice JB Rana had appointed only two benches on Oct. 25. According to Supreme Court spokesperson Baburam Dahal, JB Rana has scheduled a hearing with Judge Kumar Chudal in the Devendra Thapa Magar case. Spokesperson Dahal informed that a joint bench has been appointed for Vishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and Manoj Kumar Sharma, Prakash Kumar Dhungana and Kumar Regmi and Tej Bahadur KC and Nahkul Subedi.
Judges Bamkumar Shrestha and Kumar Chudal have also been assigned a single bench. Supreme Court justices have not looked into issues other than habeas corpus, with Chief Justice JB Rana demanding alternatives to judicial reform.
