NRB Assistant Director Thapa dies due to COVID
KATHMANDU: NOV. 8 – Kriti Thapa Rajbhandari, Assistant Director of NRB, has died due to COVID-19. Kriti, 30, who was treated at Teaching Hospital two weeks ago after being tested with COVID-19, died last Monday.
Her step-mother Khuma Budha Magar died on Oct. 21 at the age of 42. The Thapa and Rajbhandari families are in mourning after Kriti’s death 12 days after Khuma’s death. Kriti was married to Rabindra Rajbhandari of Bhangal, Kathmandu 11 months ago.
According to family sources, Kriti was eight months pregnant. However, the child was removed after an operation on Oct. 25 due to health problems. The child is undergoing treatment at the Teaching Hospital.
Kriti was working as Assistant Director in Nepal Rastra Bank. She is the daughter of Kumar Thapa Magar, a member of the CPN-UML Lumbini State Committee.
