Need to use Nepal Sambat: Vice President

KATHMANDU: NOV. 5 – Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun said that it was necessary to promote the Nepal Sambat and bring it into practical use for the originality and identity of Nepal.

Expressing best wishes on the occasion of Nepal Sambat 1142, he expressed the belief that today would inspire everyone for the promotion and practical use of Nepal Sambat.

Expressing high respect for the contribution made by Sankhadhar Sakhwa, the promoter of Nepal Sambat and a national icon, to the progressive social transformation, the Vice President has paid tribute to Sakhwa.

He recalled that the Nepal Sambat, started by progressive social engineer and a national icon of Nepal Shankhadhar Sakhwa by freeing the poor peasant people from debt from his personal wealth, is the original national sambat of Nepal.
