Prime Minister Deuba is returning home today
KATHMANDU: NOV. 4 – Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is returning home on Thursday after attending the World Leaders Summit of the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Development and Cooperation (COP26) in Glasgow, United Kingdom.
Deuba had left for London on Oct. 29, leading a 20-member Nepali delegation to the conference held on November 1 and 2. The team led by the Prime Minister will arrive in Kathmandu on Thursday at 1:55 pm local time from Edinburgh via Doha on a Qatar Airways flight. Minister for Forest and Environment Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav is participating in COP26 and all the members of the visiting team except him are returning home.
Before returning home, Prime Minister Deuba visited the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh, Scotland, addressed a reception in his honor and planted birch saplings in the Nepali garden in garden. This is Prime Minister Deuba’s first foreign trip since becoming prime minister for the fifth time.
During the visit, Prime Minister Deuba addressed a reception hosted by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Nepal (APPG-N) and the UK-Nepal Business and Investment Forum in London. While there, Prime Minister Deuba met with representatives of the UK-Nepal Society, the Non-Resident Nepali Association and the Nepali community living in the UK.
Prime Minister Deuba addressed the World Leaders Summit on November 1, attending the formal inauguration of COP26. During his visit, Prime Minister Deuba also held bilateral meetings with various heads of state and government and other dignitaries.
