World Leaders Summit underway, bilateral meeting between PM Deuba and Indian PM Modi today

GLASGOW: NOV. 2 – Heads of State and Government who have assembled here for the COP 26 continue to address the two-day World Leaders Summit today. The Summit is held from November 1 under the COP26.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba addressed the Summit along with the leaders of different countries on Monday. The Summit is scheduled to conclude with the speech of the Head of State and Government on Tuesday.

Head of the State and Government of 117 countries of the world are scheduled to address the Summit.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister Deuba is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, today.

Similarly, Sri Lankan President, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, would meet Prime Minister Deuba today itself.

Britain’s Defense Secretary, office-bearers of World Bank and IMO would hold sideline meetings with PM Deuba.

Prime Minister Deuba has arrived in London on Friday night leading a Nepali delegation to attend the COP26, starting from October 31 at Glasgow. COP26 will conclude on November 12.

The 21-member Nepali delegation comprises Minister for Forest and Environment, Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Poudyal, Forest Secretary Dr. Pem Narayan Kandel, Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey, among others.
